I passed using this text! February 27, 2008 I would recommend this. I read it and took the practice tests and passed with no problems. Good luck!
Are you smarter than a 5th grader? October 19, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This book was helpful in the fact that it covered all of the competencies on the FTCE, but there was ALOT of content from the book never mentioned on the exam. The questions on the practice test were very complex and not at all like the format of actual exam questions. LOTS of typographical errors. I studied this book for 5 weeks and it honestly was not as much help as I would have liked. But...for someone like me who has been out of school for several years it was a good refresher for basics. I did pass.:)
I passed the exam August 10, 2007 The book has much material to get through, but it is a great prep and review for those of us who have been out of the 6th grade for some time!
Not very helpful July 25, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This book is awful. There are no practice questions throughout and there are many errors. How can one refresh their memory with math when there are just paragraphs written about HOW to do things instead of actual problems to practice??? It's frustrating to even go through this book. The worst part about it is there is no better book for this test!!! Cliffs Prep needs to create a book for this test, their study guides are awesome!
AWFUL June 25, 2007 This book was really no help. I am a career changer so some of the info was interesting but the when I came to the actual test I was SO LOST. It didn't have much that was in that book. I failed by 4 points. I honestly, think I could have done just as well without the book. Waste of money.
