Product Description Florida can be divided into seven distinct regions, each corresponding to specific geographic and cultural criteria. Marshy Everglades, and tropical Keys occupy the south, while the vacation capital of Miami rises along the east coast. From the extravagant Gilded Age of manses and fantastic beaches of the Gold and Treasure Coasts to the amusement parks of Orlando, and St. Augustine's Spanish-Colonial era architecture in the Northeast, Florida is a region of stark contrasts. Florida guide July 28, 2008 I've been to Florida a hundred times, but almost always to visit relatives, and so most visits were to non-descript corners. I bought this guide after hearing a frequent British visitor to the state tell me how much he loves Florida, in hopes of being able to see the place with new eyes.
These Eyewitness guides are terrific, of course, for their photos. But the writing is also first rate, and does a better job than other guides I've read of making destinations sound interesting. Finally, the series are written for non-Americans, and so have comments about the place and an orientation that American-made guides miss completely.
Great if you are thinking of visiting January 15, 2008 I bought it for my girlfriend before our trip to Florida, and it helped her visualize thing better than researching on the internet. I grew up in Jupiter, FL and now live out west, but I learned at least 100 new places and things that I didn't know, especially around Miami and The Keys where we were going.
A Must Have Resource July 15, 2007 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
This is one of the best, most complete guides to Florida travel. I have several Florida guide and travel resources and find that I always go back to this book.

Good but can be improved March 29, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I love this kind of guide for all the images they show of the places you are going to see. The only problem I have is that there is no much information about accomodations. For that I had to look into another guide or online.
