Great Reference Book May 30, 2008 This book is handy to have around or in your tackle box. Gives good information on baits and rigs. The illustrations are very good and advice is sound. I recommend it for all to have as a reference book.
excellent diagrams February 13, 2008 I bought this book to learn about knots and it has been very good. Hopefully I will progress in my fishing and will get more use from the book.
Excellent How To Book December 7, 2007 The book is a very good general guide to use of equipment and techniques for different kinds of fishin. The knot tying section is particularly enlightening and worth the price for that alone. It will be useful as a handbook to take along fishing or when choosing equipment to buy.
It's complete... generally speaking. October 2, 2007 This manual is a great starter. It has general information about all aspects of fishing, fresh water and salt, spinning casting and trolling, even fly fishing. However it left me a little uninformed with specifics for certain regions and technique. Which I cannot totally agree with as a "Comlete" book of rigs and tackle. It is however a great purchase for the fisherman who is just getting started or for a gift for that aspiring fisherman who needs or desires information on a wide variety of setups and general techniques. I would give it 5 star review as an aforementioned gift or purchse in that case. ciao, Scott
Slightly Disappointed July 4, 2006 6 out of 7 found this review helpful
I expected more information about particular species and their habits and what rigs to use. The book was VERY general. Good for a beginner but lacking detail in what others beyond this level might want. It has a thorough explanation about knots.
Again- good for beginners but not what I was looking for or expected.
