With her bags packed and passport in hand, travel expert Samantha Brown takes off on an adventure to over 30 European destinations. Along the way Samantha offers up practical information and real travel tips - things you wish were covered in the travel guides! She'll give viewers a feel for the essence of these fascinating cities through her travel experiences, plus she'll share tips on where to stay, what to see, where to eat, shop, and play. This isn't just a great hotel - this is your Passport to Europe! Episode 14: Barcelona, Spain - its name conjures images of Old World traditions and its people are energized by their passion for enjoying life. Samantha Brown packs her bags for this Spanish coastal city, where art, architecture, and cava wine are staples of Catalan lifestyle. Nightlife is big in Barcelona, so Samantha's first stop is one of the city's most endearing establishments - El Xampanyet Bar. Here Samantha joins locals in taste-testing the house special - a glass of sparkling wine - and gets a lesson in the art of eating anchovies! Samantha discovers the out-of-the-ordinary architecture of Antoni Gaudi, whose celebrated creations would be right at home in an imaginative amusement park. It is a nice general documentory of Barcelona, but I can not relay on it to plan my future visit to the spain city. Too much effort is placed to make the dvd interesting , but not detail data on tourist attractions are provided.
