A MUST HAVE FOR FANS AND PLAYERS OF ALL AGES!

Packed with blistering slapshots, big hits and sweet dangles, IN THE CREASE takes you on the rollercoaster ride of a real life teenage hockey team's pursuit of a national championship and features special appearances by professional hockey's biggest stars sharing their own personal experiences. Shot on location in Southern California, Minnesota, New York, New Jersey and Illinois, the feature length documentary film is the first ever to give an inside look at a youth sport and what it means to kids and parents.

From day one, Coach Mike Lewis assembles the California Wave Bantam AAA travel hockey team with one goal in mind: getting to nationals. But qualifying is the easy part. In their final season together, and with only one month to prepare to face off against the best teams in the nation, the Wave must find the strength to battle back against injuries and personal challenges and come together as a team for one last shot at the title. Making it to nationals is the dream. Winning it will take a miracle.

See what it takes to be the best. Hear from hockey superstars like Joe Thornton, Brendan Shanahan, Scott Gomez, Scott Niedermayer, Jeremy Roenick, Brian Rolston, Mathieu Schneider, Martin Havlat, Mike Knuble and Glen Murray how hockey is more than just a sport, it's a way of life.

DVD bonus features include 20 minutes of extended interviews with pro hockey stars and prep school, major junior and college scouts.

Pro players included: Brendan Shanahan, Scott Niedermayer, Joe Thornton, Jeremy Roenick, Martin Havlat, Scott Gomez, Mathieu Schneider, Al MacInnis, Brian Rolston, Craig Conroy, Derian Hatcher, Mike Knuble, RJ Umberger, Mike Comrie and Glen Murray.

2 out of 5 stars ehhh   November 17, 2008
I am a huge hockey fan, but found the video to be mildly entertaining. Dont expect it to be like Hoop Dreams or FRiday Night Lights.

Wouldn't recommend buying it. If you are dying to see it, try to rent or borrow it from someone.

4 out of 5 stars Good behind the scenes of Youth Hockey   January 21, 2008

This is a great documentary of the hard work of being involved in youth hockey, both from the player's point of view and the family's point of view. We follow a group of kids from California that play in a Club to the National Champions. The hard work that it took to get them there the ups and downs on the path of winning it all. Great to watch once, but not sure if you would be up for watching much more than that.

2 out of 5 stars Disappointing   January 8, 2008

There is a great film to be made on this topic. Unfortunatley, this one is disappointing. I found that the movie does not capture the excitement, crazy humor and bonding between players, coaches and families that occurs in youth hockey. Hopefully, someone will try again!

I got this for my 10 year old son and he loved it. Recommended for young hockey enthusiasts.
