Magic Kingdom Imagineering Field Guide October 1, 2005 3 out of 7 found this review helpful
If you like learning anything about Disney this book is a must read. It is packed with lots of history and tidbits of information on the Magic Kingdom. It is fun to learn how each ride and land was created.
Interesting, but too basic. September 24, 2005 2 out of 5 found this review helpful
This field guide mentions many things that we see in the Magic Kingdom and do not know what it stands for or the meaning. Many of the little details are uncovered. The basics is mentioned but no in depth analysis is given. Good for the beginner.
Not a travel guide, but interesting September 21, 2005 3 out of 8 found this review helpful
I hope that in the future books they could add in more about the challenges of different attractions, as well as more hidden fun facts, and less homage's to past imagineers. I appreciate that these are amazing people, but they are mostly unknown to us.
Also, a larger book trim size would make it more readable.
Still, a really great read, and well worth the money.
A Treasure Trove of Imagineering Insider Info in a Small Space September 8, 2005 38 out of 43 found this review helpful
The entire point of imagineering anything is to convey a story in a consistent and complete manner. How this is done is the subject of several imagineering books. For the newcomer, the book simply entitled Imagineering is it. For the next stage of imagineer-wannabe, there is the Field Guide. Take a guided tour of the Magic Kingdom land by land, attraction by attraction and learn what goes into making it all work cohesively and seemlessly. This is an absolutely essential component to anyone's library of Disneyana or, more in general, anyone's library of the creative process. This is supposed to be the first in a series of Imagineering Field Guides and I cannot wait until the next ones are published. Good Show.
