5 out of 5 stars Striking photos show the popular and the more obscure   June 16, 2008
What a beautiful book! I was surprised when I got it and saw all the colorful photos. Most pages have more than one picture, some with lots more.

I loved seeing the more obscure attractions, too, which you don't usually see photos of. Like Shark Reef at Typhoon Lagoon (my personal favorite!), or the Tea Cups in Magic Kingdom. I liked seeing the photo of the guy setting up fireworks for Epcot. I like knowing that my favorite character Timon is in the Festival of the Lion King at Animal Kingom. I had no idea you could take surfing lessons at Typhoon Lagoon before they open in the morning, but a big beautiful photo of a girl on a surfboard let me know that it exists. Now I might have to try it myself!

Do yourself a favor and get this book if you are planning a Disney trip. It's well worth the money!

5 out of 5 stars Can't wait to find these "Fun Finds"   June 16, 2008

I thought I'd just use this book for specifications (my teenaged son is deaf and we always look for closed-captioning on Disney rides and shows). It is so much more! For example, I just read in the Haunted Mansion article that Mr. Toad from Mr. Toad's Wild Ride is buried in the pet cemetery! This I have to see! I'm a big Mr. Toad fan and was so sorry when the ride closed down at Disney World. I didn't know he still had a presence there!

I know this is one little example, but this book is chock full of little facts like that. It'll make you want to take a trip to Orlando just to check out all the "Fun Finds" as the book calls them.

By the way, all the information I needed for my son is in the book, too. So I got everything I wanted and more!

5 out of 5 stars Helpful & great souvenir   June 16, 2008
For my family's recent trip to Disney World my husband and I bought this book to help us plan the vacation. We usually get a travel guide to wherever we are going. This book was the most helpful travel guide we've ever gotten, for any of our trips!

A big thing it helped us do is pick out a place to stay. We chose Fort Wilderness so we could stay in a cabin and go horseback riding and fishing. Before this book I didn't even know you could do those things on Disney property!

The book also recommended that we make dining reservations before the trip, and gave us the lowdown on the Disney Dining Plan, which saved us money and made our trip more convenient.

Last but not least, the book makes a super souvenir for our trip. The pages are full of literally hundreds of photos of Disney World. Not just inside the parks, but everywhere else, too! We were able to see the campfire at Fort Wilderness before we booked it, for example. And now we can look at the book and remember our wonderful time at Disney.

We highly recommend this book!

3 out of 5 stars Perfect for pictures and fun facts   June 16, 2008

If pretty pictures and fun facts are what you are looking for, this is the perfect book for you. However, if what you need is information on getting in and around the World and about rides, restaurants, and entertainment then you might want to look elsewhere.

5 out of 5 stars Like having a personal guide   June 13, 2008
My family and I found this book very helpful on our vacation to Walt Disney World. We used it to find a place to stay, make restaurant reservations and make our daily plans. The wealth of photos, the crisp writing and the many helpful tips all make the book a pleasure to read.
