Flap Fun March 2, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This book was a gift and it is one of our bedtime favorites. Love the lift the flaps, and our 20 month old can't get enough of animals.
Great book! February 26, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
My daughter loves this book. She opens the cages and makes the animal noises for each page!
A favorite!! February 1, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
My 19 month old daughter loves it. She has learned all of the animal sounds from this book and now makes the corresponding noise before lifting the flap. We have lots of lift the flap books and this one has held up to several times a day readings. The flaps are easy for little fingers to grab too. A simple, well constructed and entertaining book.
Dear Zoo:A Lift and Flap Book November 10, 2006 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought the book for my 2 yr. old. He likes it a lot. He really likes animals and has fun making animal sounds. I would recommend it for little kids.
Turn your child into a book lover. October 25, 2006 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Each page has an illustration of a crate, cage or box which is a flap. Underneath each one is a zoo animal. The background is plain white. The story is very simple and there is only one or two lines of narration per page and they are repetitive. The only variation is the animal featured and a one word description. For example "So they sent me a camel. He was too naughty. I sent him back". This book is a board book. I gave this book four stars instead of five because the flaps could have been more sturdy.
I thought this book might be too simple at first but when I introduced it to my daughter at 4 months she loved it instantly. I think the simplicity of the story and uncomplicated images can hold the attention of one who is very young with a short attention span. She did go through a stage around one year where she tore out half of the flaps. Now that she is 17 months and passed that stage I bought her another copy. She still loves this book and is learning the sign language for all the animals. I think this book will turn your child into a book lover, as children in general love animals and lift-the-flap books.
