The Standard May 17, 2007 This is the standard. It's still the best guide to Disney World. Birnbaum's Disney guides have been a standard in our household for years.
Great Disney Book for Kids May 16, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
We bought this book for our grandson before his first visit to Disney World. It gave him a great introduction to the parks without overwhelming him. The book not only lists hints and ideas of what to do and see, it also includes what kind of food is available and where to get it! All the parks are discussed and there are descriptions of many of the rides. Kids' comments are on almost every page. The format is kid friendly and easy to read, the illustrations are good, and actually it's fun to read as an adult, too. If our grandson's fanny pack had been larger, he would have carted it around all day since there were pages at the back of the book to collect signatures from the characters. By the way, he told us he loved the book and read every page more than once!
Very helpful for Disney with preschoolers May 15, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This book was very helpful for us as parents taking a 4-year-old and a 2-year-old to Disney for the first time. It gave specific information about which rides are dark, loud, scary, or rough, which ones had height requirements, and which ones are must-see's. The quick reference format made it easy to use, although tabs would have made it even better. We took it with us everywhere in Disney. It was also fun to read through as we prepared for our Disney vacation.
not very informative May 14, 2007 0 out of 3 found this review helpful
I expected to read about shortcuts--kids know about cutting in line--and reviews on food from a kid perspective. I was disappointed in this book. The book had potential, I think if a kid had input after their halo of disney bliss had worn off....
great for reluctant readers May 12, 2007 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is a fun book with plenty of pictures and "hot tips." My eight year old is a very reluctant reader, but he has really enjoyed this book. If you are trying to encourage reading skills in a child you can't go wrong with this.
