Great choice! February 14, 2007 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
This was a wonderful tool in helping us plan our trip to Disney with our two young sons. Definately recommend it. Also very helpful for recommending age appropriate places to visit.
Can't say enough about this book! February 6, 2007 11 out of 11 found this review helpful
This is simply a fabulous book to have to get your kids involved in the planning process. We bought it for our 8 year old who took great delight in reading it and showing it to our 5 year old. Honestly, we thought the kids couldn't have digested it since they went through it so fast, but when we were at the parks they knew things inside and out.
The book does a great job of finding things kids would most enjoy at every park and is written in a tone (supposedly "by kids") that they can relate to. The rides have descriptions of the "fear factor" as well, although how much you can rely on those depends on your kids' own level of tolerance.
The book even pointed us to some things we enjoyed as adults but wouldn't have likely found using our "adult" guides, such as the soda sampling in Epcot. This was our first time at the parks and my advice is, buy one book for you so you can figure out how the parks work and maximize your time there, then buy this one for your kids and ask, "now what do you want to do!"
Great for Kids January 31, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This was great for my kids for our first trip. It has great pictures for the kids and fun games and places to write in the book. It gives little "symbols" for each attraction, just as scary or dark. It was great for them to look through to get excited about the trip and to plan what was on the "must do" list.
Must have for kids planning a trip to Disney World January 15, 2007 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
I purchased this book for each of my grandsons who live in Orlando. They have an annual pass to Disney World and this helps them plan their visits. Each park is critiqued by kids for kids and it is an easy read. Each feature is critiqued telling them what the ride or feature is like and if it is scary or not. In the back of the book there is a space for character autographs. They love this book.
Awesome Book!!! January 11, 2007 17 out of 17 found this review helpful
We are currently planning our second trip to WDW and when we went 4 years ago we purchased Birnbaum's Official Guide to Walt Disney World. That book was the saving grace of our first WDW experience - and boy did it get worn out. With that in mind, I just purchased the 2007 edition to get all the updated information. I breifly considered buying this WDW for Kids for our 7 year old, but assumed it would be completely redundant information. My husband said we should get it anyway just so our son could have his own book to look through and start getting excited about our trip (as if he isn't excited enough already :)
Boy am I glad we did - this book offers so much more kid-focused information than the Official Guide, and my son just can't get enough of it. As other reviews state, one of the greatest things about this book is the "Mickey Warnings" for the attractions (loud, scary, wet, dark, rough). And this book is even more colorful and fun to read than the Official Guide - if that's possible.
Bottom line: if you are headed to WDW with kids, this book is well worth it. I'd recommend you pick up both the Birnbaums WDW (Offical Guide) and this one.
