A 'must' for planning a visit to these popular attractions January 5, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Walt Disney World Resort in Florida is some 47 square miles in size. About 30,000 acres (about one-fourth of the property) has been developed, and another quarter designated as a wilderness preserve. It is justifiably considered to be the world's premier theme park. Disney enthusiast and Florida resident Laura Reiley has presented a compact, informationally enriched, and thoroughly 'user friendly' "Walt Disney World & Orlando" guidebook to all of the Disney attractions in all of the Disney 'worlds' (Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Disney-MGM Studies, Disney's Animal Kingdom), as well as two other major recreations in Orland, Florida -- Universal Studios Resort and SeaWorld Orlando. She even includes such lesser known vacation resources as Gatorland and Cypress Gardens Adventure Park. Of special note is the wealth of practical advice, suggestions, and recommendations relevant to planning a trip that is customized to the reader's particular interests, budget, and available time. Enhanced with thirty detailed maps, this newest addition to the impressive Moon Handbooks travel guide series, "Walt Disney World & Orlando" should be considered a 'must' for planning a visit to these popular attractions whether it is as a day trip, a week end, or an extended vacation.
Info without entertainment January 5, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I got several Disney World planning books to plan my first trip to Disney. This one had all the information that the others had and presented some of the author's interesting opinions but it isn't much fun to look at. It is all black and white print, a few black and white photos. Because it is a smaller book most other guide books, it also has very small print. It's not an enjoyable bedtime read but would be a good book to take with on the trip in order to look up things as you go. About half of this book is Disney World and the other half is surrounding areas.
Very Helpful! November 8, 2007 My fiancee and I used this book on our recent trip to Disney World, and it vas very helpful to us. The author provides very detailed information on how to get around the parks (they are huge!), and what are the best attractions to see in a limited amount of time. She also talks about other attractions throughout Orlando, for those wanting a day away from the parks. We found this book to be very helpful on our trip, and would recommend it to others as well.
